Bruno Gunn (Brutus) was at the Walmart Superstore in Elgin, IL last night to celebrate the DVD/Blu-Ray release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, sign autographs and interact with fans. During the event, Bruno took a moment to speak to the Chicago Sun Times’ Courier News to talk about the movie, his fellow cast members, and what a great opportunity Catching Fire is for his career.
When talking with the fans about what a strong role model Katniss is for young women, Bruno had nothing but praise for the female members of the Hunger Games family:
“This series is built on a quartet of remarkable women,” Gunn said. “Katniss Everdeen, who’s out there kicking butt and changing the world for her people; Suzanne Collins, the author who created this fantastic story and characters; Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar-winning actress who plays Katniss; and one of the producers, Nina Jacobson.”
“This is a really female-driven movie,” Gunn said. “And as Cate Blanchett said Sunday night in her Oscar acceptance speech, female movies are profitable.”
Let’s give a round of applause to Bruno for being so awesome!
