Last year, tributes saw casting announcements for a slew of new cast members for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay including Julianne Moore as President Coin, Mahershala Ali as Boggs, Evan Ross as Messalla, Lily Rabe as Lyme, and Natalie Dormer as Cressida. Even with all these new faces, there were a couple of characters missing from announcements. For example, Lieutenant Jackson, who is second in command to Boggs in Squad 451.
For fans, it’s always been a little strange to get announcements for some characters, but not others, so speculation always ensues. Are they merging Boggs and Jackson into one character? Has Fulvia been eliminated and merged into Cressida?
However, recently the IMDb page for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay was updated to include actress Michelle Forbes as Lieutenant Jackson. Forbes is a recognizable face for many fandoms, having played the infamous Admiral Cain in the Battlestar Galactica: Razor tv movie, Maryanne in the (awful) second season of True Blood, and has starred in recurring roles on popular television shows such as 24, The Killing, and Prison Break. Forbes was also a fancasting choice for the role of President Coin.
A lack of announcement for her role wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen an actor go unannounced. Actor Patrick Espirit, who played hardass Head Peacekeeper Romulus Thread in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was never officially announced by Lionsgate. In August 2012, Variety broke the news that the actor had been cast.
Note: Since anyone with a pro subscription to IMDb Pro can edit the site, this remains rumor and speculation until we can get confirmation.
