‘Catching Fire’ Bows With 10th Place at All-Time Box Office

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the #1 movie of 2013, and according to Box Office Mojo, the sequel to Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games bowed out of theaters on Thursday (April 3rd) after spending no less than 19 weeks (133 days) on the big screen.

The movie is also on top of many categories on the website, such as ‘Action Heroine’, ‘Sci-Fi – Based on Books’ and ‘Young-Adult Movie Adaptations’, thus surpassing the domestic box office totals of any of the Harry Potter and Twilight films. It grossed $424,668,047 domestically (United States and Canada), and $439,897,616 in foreign markets, for a worldwide total of $864,565,663, making it #10 on the All Time Domestic chart.

The third installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, is scheduled to open on November 21st, 2014.
