Have A Listen To “The Hanging Tree” (Unofficial Instrumental)

Hanging Tree

Edward Underhill and Matt Bukaty have undertaken the composition of a few unofficial musical scores inspired by Suzanne Collin’s Mockingjay. Have a go and listen to their instrumental version of The Hanging Tree. I will say I imagined the song to be more grim and dark, but with that said, this score is beautiful.

Just a fun fact: this version sounds nothing like the version they will be using in the film Mockingjay. The official movie version of The Hanging Tree is more harrowing and simplistic, sung to a steady cadence like a ballad, which is obviously more fitting. It’s actually pretty chilling. You will not be disappointed!
