Julianne Moore Wins Best Actress Academy Award for her Role in ‘Still Alice’

The news of the day is, of course, that there’s a brand new Academy Award winner in our Hunger Games family: The Academy Awards ceremony took place last night, and our very own President Coin, Julianne Moore, took home the Actress in a Leading Role statuette for her role as a woman with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in Still Alice.

Julianne accepted the award from last year’s Best Actor winner, Matthew McConaughey, and gave a very sweet and heartfelt acceptance speech, which you can watch in the video above. You can also watch her Press Room interview below, in which she talks a little bit more about her husband (they are adorable!), why she chooses the roles she does, and her feelings about smaller dramas in comparison to large blockbusters.

We are so proud of Julianne, not only for winning the Oscar, but for sweeping in this year’s awards season! She absolutely deserves this, and we couldn’t be happier that such a lovely, genuine, talented actress, with such an illustrious career, has finally been awarded Hollywood’s greatest honor. Took ’em long enough!
