US Weekly has released a tiny snippet of their interview with Elizabeth Banks which is in US Weekly’s Collector’s Edition bookazine, available in stores and online at Barnesandnoble.com. This special Collector’s Edition of Us is full of more The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff, so make sure to check it out if you can!
On Effie’s “make-under”, Elizabeth said:
“Effie really finds herself having to what I like to call ‘Project Runway her way’ through the wardrobe that’s been given to her…It was like, okay, the shirt’s going to be a dress and the tights are going to be the sleeves of a shirt, the sweater’s going to go on my head. She can make anything fabulous!”
I’ve said it so many times, and I won’t stop saying it until I see the film: Effie and her character development and expanded role in Mockingjay is what I am most excited to see.
What do you think of Elizabeth’s little analogy of Effie being like a contestant on Project Runway? I never even thought about it that way!
