Fans of James Newton Howard’s score for The Hunger Games series (and happen to be in Austria next month) can jump for joy. The Academy Award nominated composer will be the guest of honour at this year’s Hollywood in Vienna event where he will receive the Max Steiner Film Achievement Award. A tribute to the man will take place with his work performed live by the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. Previous winners of the award include John Barry, James Horner, Lalo Schifrin, Howard Shore and Randy Newman.

According to MTV, Howard will be premiering music from The Hunger Games, Maleficent and Blood Diamond all in their concert debut and many others from his 120+ soundtrack back catalog.

The concert will take place on October 15th and 16th in Wierner Konzerthaus, Vienna. The concert will begin with a performance of some of Hollywood’s creepiest themes, just in time for Hallowe’en, with the second half dedicated to James Newton Howard. The red carpet and award ceremony will take place on the 16th. You can purchase tickets here and find out more about the event here.
